How it works
Frequently asked questions
What does the Encode mode do to my text?
It encodes your text as a full URI component, exactly like JavaScript's encodeURIComponent: spaces become %20, and every reserved character — ? & = / # and non-ASCII characters — is converted to its percent-encoded form. This makes the text safe to use inside query strings and URL parameters.
Why does Decode fail with an error?
Decoding uses decodeURIComponent, which throws an error on malformed input — for example a lone % or an incomplete sequence like %2. If you see an error, check that every % is followed by two valid hexadecimal digits.
Is my text uploaded to a server?
No. Everything is converted with your browser's built-in encodeURIComponent and decodeURIComponent functions, so your text never leaves this page — nothing is uploaded or stored anywhere.
encodeURIComponent · decodeURIComponent · 100% local — your text never leaves this page.
