Frequently asked questions

What counts as a duplicate line?

Two lines are duplicates when they match exactly, character for character. Turn on "Case-sensitive" and "Apple" vs "apple" will count as different lines; leave it off and they are treated as the same.

Is my text uploaded to a server?

No. All deduping runs in plain JavaScript inside your browser, so your lines never leave this page — nothing is uploaded or stored anywhere.

What happens to the original order of my lines?

With "Keep first occurrence order" on (the default), each line keeps the position of its first appearance. Turn it off and each line keeps the position of its last appearance instead.
